Which worry is yours?

The four worries we hear most. Each page says what the paperwork usually shows and what you can do about it.

  • Car, when it’s always in the shop

The same problem, repair after repair. We read the repair orders and the warranty to see whether the maker owes you a fix, a refund or a replacement.

    Lemon law
  • Paycheck, when a collector sues

A summons has a deadline, and missing it can cost you more than the debt. We file your answer first and ask the collector to prove what it says you owe.

    Debt lawsuits
  • Credit, when the report is wrong

A wrong account or someone else’s debt can cost you a loan or a lease. We dispute it in writing, with proof, and follow up until the bureau answers.

    Credit reports
  • Contract, when the dealer added extras

A warranty, a coating or a service plan you never asked for, buried in the financing. We go through every page of what you signed.

    Dealer fraud

Four jobs, each quoted on its own

Each is a flat fee agreed in writing before work starts. Court filing fees, if any, are separate and go to the court.

  • Paid review

    Dealer contract review

Every page of the deal jacket, and a written list of what to question.

  • Quoted first

    Credit report dispute

Dispute letters to the bureaus and the companies that reported, with your proof attached.

  • Quoted first

    Answer to a debt lawsuit

Your answer filed before the deadline, and a request that the collector prove the debt.

  • Quoted first

    Lemon law demand letter

A demand to the maker built from your repair record, with your options explained.

After the paperwork got read

“I had signed five pages without reading them. They went through every line with me and found two charges I never asked for.”

Nubia V.Car buyer

“I almost ignored the summons. Leopoldo had my answer filed before the deadline and explained each step in one call.”

Dwight K.Sued over a credit card

Answers before we talk

Do I have to come to Oxnard?

No. We meet by video from anywhere in Ventura County, and you sign by phone or computer. If you’d rather sit down in person, the office is open by appointment.

What does a flat fee cover?

One named job, such as a dispute or an answer to a lawsuit, at one price we write down first. If the job grows, we tell you and quote the next step before doing it. Court filing fees are separate.

Is the quote free?

Yes. We read your paperwork and tell you the fee for the job at no charge. The work starts when you accept the written fee and sign. Court filing fees, if any, are separate.

I don’t speak much English. Can I still hire you?

Yes. Soledad Barragán and Leopoldo Maldonado meet clients in Spanish, and the fee agreement and every letter we send for you can be in Spanish too. Ask when you book if you need another language.

What should I send before the call?

Whatever you have: the letter or summons, the contract, the credit report, repair orders, texts or emails. Photos from your phone are fine. Please leave out Social Security and account numbers.

Bring the paperwork. Leave with a price.

Send what you have through the form, or call. We reply with the flat fee in writing, and you decide.
