Credit reports
A mistake on your credit report, and nobody fixing it.
A wrong account, someone else’s debt or an item that should have aged off can cost you a loan, a lease or a job offer. The bureaus have to look into a dispute, and so does the company that reported it. We write the dispute so it can’t be brushed off, then follow it up.
We look for
Accounts that aren’t yours, including identity theft
Duplicate accounts and wrong balances
Paid accounts still showing as owed
Old items that should have dropped off

How a dispute goes
Pull all three reports
You can get your reports free from the official source. We read all three, because each bureau can show something different.
Dispute in writing, with proof
A letter to each bureau and to the company that reported the item, with copies of what shows the error.
Follow up until it’s answered
The bureaus generally have about thirty days to investigate. We check the answer and tell you what to do if the item stays.
Questions about a credit report
Can’t I just dispute it online?
You can, and for a simple error it sometimes works. When it doesn’t, or the same item comes back, a letter with proof gets more attention.
Does a dispute lower my score?
Disputing an item doesn’t lower your score by itself. If an item is corrected or removed, your score can change, usually for the better.
Someone opened an account in my name. Now what?
Tell us what you know. We help you document it, dispute the account and send what the bureaus and the company need to remove it.
Send the report. We’ll read every line.
We compare all three bureaus’ versions and quote the dispute fee in writing.
A flat fee is quoted in writing before any work starts.
